Course Description:
This one semester online course examines the basics of human anatomy and physiology including anatomical terminology, basic biochemistry, cells, and tissues The primary focus of the course is the study of organ systems including integumentary, skeletal, muscular, nervous, endocrine, cardiovascular, lymphatic/immune, respiratory, digestive, urinary, and reproductive systems. A look at how the various organ systems are interconnected is a central theme over the semester. The course will also include an introduction to common human disease processes that occur when organ systems fail to maintain homeostasis.
